 The Y-Guides & Princesses Program gives out colored bear claws for recognition and accomplishments.  

Black Bear Claw

  • The black bear claw is given in lieu of the fifth meeting's (or outing) red attendance bead.

Blue Bear Claw

  • The blue bear claw is given by the Guide/Princess to the Big Brave as a symbol that they have given up impatience.  

Yellow Bear Claw

  • The yellow bear claw is given by the Big Brave to the Guide/Princess as a symbol that he has given up selfishness 

Green Bear Claw

  • The green bear claw is earned for any ecology project by the tribe -- roadside cleanup, river/bank cleanup, or participating in Park Clean Up Day.  

 Red Bear Claw

  • The red bear claw is for performing service to the community or donating money to the YMCA "We Build People" campaign.

White Bear Claw

  • The white bear claw is given for participatig in the Winter Polar Bear swim 

Purple Bear Claw

  • The purple bear claw is given to those Big & Little Braves & Princesses who are hurt while participating in a program outing.
